2016 – 2019
We had worked with a third party design firm to get a jump start on building the next generation of LLamasoft’s flagship supply chain design application, Supply Chain Guru. As we stretched the limits of the design system and expanded the development team, it became clear that we needed to take stock of what had already been developed, standardize it when necessary, and build out rules for how we would structure screens going forward.
The goal was to get to a point where simple screens could be described in stories by business analysts and pieced together by our developers with existing code with limited oversight from UX. The challenge was to build a system that would be flexible enough to be adaptable to new situations while giving firm guidelines to solve the unknowable problems of an unpredictable future.
